Anyway, strategy. I already sent a warning to a friend in Vandare about what might happen, and if I have to then I'm going to help them protect their place if things go badly. But it'd be better to stop the BB from taking over the government in the first place (assuming it's them who arranged the message).
I don't really want to fight them... but I guess we can't avoid that.
Honestly, it's been too late to waste time trying to avoid fighting the Bloody Bones more or less since Rota.
The things to focus on now are tracking down the Bloody Bones -- both their main bases of operations and whatever information we can get on their members -- and working to limit the influence they can have on other humans. Liberal dissemination of information is going to be key in terms of convincing as much of the populace as possible to stay out of things and keep their hands clean. Ideally, some could be convinced to help with evidence of the Bloody Bones' responsibility for incidents that have hurt humans more than anyone else, but I'm not counting on that being too effective, particularly in Vandare, where they've got the masses rather solidly convinced of our guilt.
Damage control will also be necessary. Ideally, I'd like to get as many of us as possible out of Vandare, besides those who are very capable of fighting and know what the risks of being there are. Children, people who haven't transformed enough to be physically on par with those who've been here longer, people without the nerve for dangerous situations, and so on, we ought to give real thought to evacuating them until the situation is more stable.
I'm good at talking to people so I can probably help with trying to convince the uninvolved to stay out of the conflict. I'm pretty sure I can find some friendlies too if we need them, though I don't know if there'll be very many like you said. I think the city's mood might be too far gone for us to turn things around that way.
Tracking them down is going to be a bit harder but another guy and I are planning to see if we can track bullet or firearms purchases.
If we're going to evacuate so many people where are we going to house them? There's no way Bavan can fit so many and we can't just ask them all to camp out on the plains outside.

<onlyoneblossom> Ugh, sorry this was so slow in coming!
That's honestly among the most important tasks that we can dedicate resources to right now. If nothing else, we're vastly outnumbered by humans here, and will continue to be if we keep arriving here at roughly the same rate that we have been. Keeping the majority of humans from being too actively willing to do us harm is very much in our best interests. Vandare in particular might be difficult to turn around, but we can't afford at any point to stop working on that front.
Is there data kept on that?
Some can come to Bavan, some can go to Rota. Various of us have our own small towns or similar strongholds, and while I wouldn't trust everyone who's got something of the sort, a fair number could be safely sheltered there. It would take coordination, but we have the resources.
I'm with you on that. We might be physically stronger but that's still not enough to take on the entire population. It'd be a stupid idea to even if the ratio were skewed the other way.
I haven't had much luck on the leads I've turned up so far. I found some gangs all right but not the BB.
We'll need faeries willing to use their rings to shuffle people as far as Rota then. I only know one, maybe two though. Do you think the sanctuary place would accept humans? That's the biggest place I know of right now apart from the castles.
<onlyoneblossom> ...And this one, too. Uh, Emi and I are on our honeymoon ;;
If you can find information on gang membership, that might turn up a few more leads with enough poking around. Figuring out a supply chain for the weaponry sounds like a more direct way of going about it, though.
In a pinch, the castle near the west bank of the lake is mine. I'm sure we could find a few faeries. Sancturary's been open to humans who don't make a fuss, and discourage attacks on their humans, so they're also a possibility, but I don't know much about their leadership or their goals.
<magickaito> gosh, you guys go enjoy your time together, don't stress about this!
Yeah, I'm trying. I've still got a heap more buyers to track down so hopefully one of them will know something. The other guy I'm working with is casing purchases in Bavan while I do Vandare.
Sanctuary is the place on the road south of Bavan isn't it? I've heard about it but I don't know much about the place other than what you just said. I'm not sure why they're so set on monsters not hunting humans within the city...
Anyway, I wish I knew more faeries. I used to know three but they've all disappeared.
<onlyoneblossom> Just didn't want you to think I was ignoring tags for nothing :P
I tend to have my hands fairly full, but if your friend needs any help in the Bavan area, let me know.
That's about all I know about the place. I haven't visited it more than in passing, truth be told. If we're considering it as a place to evacuate people in case of emergency, perhaps an investigation would be in order.
That's a shame. I haven't been too close with any, somehow -- my subordinate turned into one for a while, but he turned back after the mountain's influence wore off.
and yeah, we should ask whoever's running the place ahead of time whether they'd be happy taking in refugees. Can't just foist them all on them at the last minute. We should also ask the castle owners.
Some of the new guys might turn into faeries. If we're lucky, they'll be able to use faerie rings early. If not, some of us who know how to drive could get vans or something...
[ Like Light, though he doesn't know that at this point in time. ]
Do you know off the top of you head who else has a castle? I used to know two of them, but I haven't heard from either recently...
Vans could work, or larger trucks if we can get our hands on those without too much cost or trouble. Comfortable seating isn't a priority we can afford too much focus on.
That's another point we can put focus on -- finding reliable allies among the humans. It will be easier here in Bavan than in the smaller towns, but if we manage to make a few solid connections, we can access more resources with them as proxies than we could on our own.
Oh, good point. Maybe we could get in touch with some of the richer people. Pretty sure some of them were grateful to us for saving them after that whole mess at the start of the year.
<onlyoneblossom> Thank you!
And some of them aren't very much use if they're too easily traceable.
At any rate... you wanted to talk strategy?

I /think/ there's a castle to the south as well? not sure
those aside, there's one in the middle of a moat close to Sanctuary
I could probably talk some of the locals into helping us shift people out with their vehicles. Assuming they don't try and kill me first.
