Room / Office Description [Xavier Institute]

Room:

Hijikata lives on-campus in the staff quarters. He has a room of the standard size, with a small attached kitchen unit and bathroom.

All of the furniture he's bought is modern and attractively minimalist in style, from the low-framed bed to the neatly-kept bookshelves. There's a black sofa, big enough for two people to relax comfortably on, and a matching armchair on the other side of the coffee table. The kitchen, too, is neatly kept, with an electric kettle, rice cooker, and tea set that obviously see a lot of use.

In the corner furthest from his bed, there is a writing desk with a chair, in a dark wood that matches the coffee table and the bookshelves. The bottom drawer is locked; the others are mostly full of writing tools and work that he's brought home with him. Nothing is on the surface unless he's working.

The bed is large, with black covers and pillowcases. Needless to say, they get washed and replaced a lot, but that's the price he pays for his aesthetic choices.

Next to the sofa, there's a cat bed and a scratching post. In the kitchen cabinet, there's a basket of cat toys, and outside the bathroom door, there's a discreet litter box. All of these are also classy and minimalist, not that the damn cat cares, having no appreciation for design.

Office:

Hijikata's office is on the second floor, near the classrooms. It's small, with just enough room to cram a desk, a chair, and some bookshelves into.

He's made the most of it. His desk has drawers full of blank documents and class materials, and the shelves are packed with history books. On the wall, there's a single, tasteful scroll of calligraphy, and there's a small bonsai Japanese plum tree in the windowsill.

There is also a cat bed in here, with a couple of toys and a blanket that looks suspiciously like a modified old sweater lying in it.
